I think we as a species kind of set ourselves up for problems when we push beauty ideals that are essentially non-human, whether that concerns skin or facial or body proportions. And I think it gets messed up when we start having a waped view of what a human body actually looks like. Creating such ideals just makes us have really unreasonable expectations on ourselves and others. And to my knowledge eating disorders and body insecurities are just an ever increasing problem.

I 100% understand the visual appeal of "perfection" and wanting to look at an ad and envisioning having that amazing result. However, as a medical esthetician I have SO many clients of all ages who come in and genuinely expect to get these results from skincare products. Sometimes it's young teenagers with hormonal acne, sometimes it's fine lines and aging, and people get so down on themselves because they can't achieve this level of perfection and really take it as them not being good enough.

Another awful topical prescription med for acne is "EpiDuo". Also peroxide-based. Just causes so much damage to the skin and bleaches everything... The best prescription for me is Azelaic Acid Cream/Gel.. either "Finacea 15%" or "Skinoren 20%"... xXx
